Heating Problem(?)

jsc230 Feb 29, 2004 11:33 AM

Hello everybody,

I got a leopard gecko yesterday, I brought him/her home to a prewarmed already set up terrarium. The temps at that time were great, 85 on the warm side 76 on the cool. This morning when i got up it was 85 on the warm and 80 on the cool.

I am using a 60 heat ceramic heat emmiter in a 10 gallon tank (20x10x12). How can I get the proper heat gradiant across the length of the tank?

BTW my new gecko, named Leviculus (guess what that means), is a healthy albino juvi. I did get it at Petco (i know i know) but I checked it over and it looks real health, my local Petco actually does a good job at keeping their animals healthy. I will try to take some pics i a few day afer he/she is adjusted to its new home.

Thank you for any help.

Where are you measuring temps? Also the CHE raises ambient temps they dont make a hot side cool side temps. go buy a 60 watt infrared lamp they will give you perfect temps probably. Also your temps should be like 90 and 80.
