male not eating HELP!

dmlove Feb 29, 2004 12:51 PM

my male is ALWAYS black bearded and pacing the cage since he got outta brumation and has eaten LITTLE to NONE in the last few weeks, all he seems to want to do is BREED! ive let him twice, lol, and im glad he is so interested because we need him to breed but i dont want the poor guy to go hungry! i offer supers and salads and crickets and waxies everyday, but he wont touch ANY of them, not even the waxies. Any ideas? parasites ruled out, hes negative. Could it be breeding season? anyone elses do this? Hes not even in view of the females, as the females are below him, so thanks for any replies.

I know nothing about breeding of Dragons. And accually am still
looking to even aquire one.
But was wondering if Dragons smell, Or have extra sensitive hearing. Or he just remembers or knows that the girls are really close by. And do they make sounds that can not be heard by us.

I do not know, so I think I would move his cage into a
entirely different room of the house and see if that helps
him get the girls out of his mind. And I think I would even wash my
hands to remove any smells that may remain on me.
Just a thought!

Beautiful boy I bet you get some beautiful babies. Maybe an adjustment of Temp will help?

to each other but they can't see one another. Somehow, they still manage to freak out at the same time and I get the impression one can smell/hear or some other way recognize there's another one there. One suggestion I got was to burn some incense to try and mask the smell. That seemes to sometimes work and sometimes not, maybe just a coincedence. Anyway, if I give them a bath that does the best job of calming either/both down.
