Can't get Blue Spot Timor to eat

Piglet106 Feb 29, 2004 06:22 PM

Hi all, haven't posted here in a while, but was wondering if anyone has any ideas what else we can try to feed our blue spot timor....we have had him almost a year now and he doesn't seem to want anything we put in there...we have tried pinkies, crickets, supers, silkies, chicken, turkey, you name it....he just won't eat....his husbandry is good, plenty of hides and many different levels....plenty warm, the only thing I can think of is maybe humidity....any suggestions would be aprreciated greatly....thx

Well, he must be eating SOMETHING, or he wouldn't still be alive. They're very very shy, so what he is eating he's probably eating when you're not looking. What's your basking temperature? Mine started eating more when I raised the basking temp, although he still won't eat more than the equivilent of about one fuzzy a day. He also won't eat anything that moves, but I think that's just him.

I would say that the basking temps are about 95-100...I have attached a picture of him.....how big is yours, do ya have a picture of him? Maybe we just got a runt....:O)

Mine's a 22 inch yellow spot.
It might sound wierd, but a basking spot of 110 or higher might be a good thing. That what mine is at. Worth a try as long as he can get away from the heat.
