prasina eating problem.

drunk_on_chivas Feb 29, 2004 11:39 PM

my prasina just stopped eating. very unsual as it has always been a good eater. it has been one month now since its last meal. it shows some interest often turning its head towards the gecko but loses interest after a few minutes. once or twice it struck at the gecko but didn't get hold of it..which is highly unusual!!
wat do y'all think? reckon it has parasites? what should i do? resort to force feeding?

It could indeed be parasites. I would treat it for parasites first, then try to feed it again. prasina's can go without food for quit a while, so don't get to worried. Maybe try smaller, or larger gekko's.
I know for a fact that force feeding is extremely stressfull for snakes, prasina's especially!! Its also quit hard not to get nipped in the fingers...there head being long and adgile.

Not much to go on,

But good luck,
PJ
