eggs....help

boastud Jun 10, 2003 10:34 AM

These eggs are 13 days old. They are starting to scrivel. I know it is because they are getting dehydrated. I have them setup with a styrofoam container, with a piece of glass on top. I have plenty of huidity, but they seem do be getting worse. One is perfectly plump. Do you think they are gettting like that becasue they are bad? I am using a safty hatch incubator. Help

My first clutch did the same thing to me this year.....After two weeks they started to dent in and look real ugly.......I started to panic and a wise person told me to relax...... dont add water, dont mess with them just make sure the temps are correct and take it easy........ well I followed his advice and yesterday I got 5 Beautiful babies from 5 very ugly eggs....Candle them if they are fertile they will hatch.......

This is a pic of mom

Good Luck

They look like nice normals.....they have the mothers pattern...not her color so we shall see in a couple of years if she is genetic or not

I have one in the incubator now that dented in within 2 days of hatching. It even started to discolor a bit. The other eggs look fine. I'm going to leave it and see what happens. As long as your humidity is 90 %, I think you'll be ok.
