ok, i am gonna be putting a fake rock background in my new built tank for vladimir. i need to know how you guys put the morter in a cave/hide if it's already made, do you just make the opening big enough to shove your hand in there, or do you do something else?
what would be the best color of sand to use to put on the rocks? most natural and asthetically (sp) pleasing?
and, for those that have built one of these cages.....what do you put over or on the tile grout after you put it on? did you put sand on it? or is there a special sealant? or did you just leave it?
has anyone ever tryed using styrofoam before instead of polystyrene? did it work? (just incase i run out of poly and i've got some styro laying around.) it seems like it would work...just slightly less shaping you can do and bigger balls to clean up.
