single white male seeking indigos

herbivorous Mar 01, 2004 06:39 PM

Hi. I'm brand new to the forums here, and I was wondering if I could get some help locating captive bred eastern indigos, texas indigos, or black tailed cribos. I live in Lodi, California, and nobody here really seems to keep Drymarchon, though I've been fascinated by them since I was about seven years old. If any of you could point me in the right direction I'd greatly appreciate it (you can also e-mail me at herbivorous@hotmail.com if you're expecting unreserved offspring).
Also, do you think it normal for a BT to be as tame as an eastern or texas indigo? I do know a guy who gets them imported rather young occasionally, and they seem pretty tractable. Thanks.

Unfort...most of the breeders (myself included) have a long waiting list on eastern and TX indigos.

Herbivorous,
If you want to spend some money and don't mind an adult, go over to Great Valley Serpentarium (if your from Lodi you should be able to find it in your sleep). I was there about a month ago and the owner told me he was selling his adults (females). $1500.00 apiece.

Thanks for your input paulbuck. I didn't know that many people were familiar with Lodi. Are you from around here?
Actually, I know the Serpentarium quite well. I've shopped there practically forever, and I have looked at the indigos there. He used to have more, but two of them escaped and died, and one of the two remaining has had (or may still have) some health issues...the other is perfectly fine to my knowledge, but I'd rather start with a baby or two and watch them grow. Thanks for the suggestion.

I'm from Sacramento so its a quick trip down 99. Your right, the one female had just had surgery on her neck (tumor?).
Good luck on getting an Indigo, maybe I could come over and just hold it for a nominal price!
