originally i wanted to get a cute little baby one, but was wondering if it would be better for me to get one from a rescue.
(I know how this must seem, but im not trying to cheep out or something, i thought many tortioses are given to shelters when they get big) I mean, im prepared to do the work nessecary to care for a larger tort, would it be better for me find a shelter thats trying to place a larger one?
Oh, I intend to do all the nesessary reasearch (diet temps and so one) and have an inclosere built and food ready b4 i buy or rescue (this is not an impulse thing)

Getting a tortoise from a rescue would be a great idea, if they have the species you want (usually they have a lot of sulcatas and russians). Just so you know, most rescues, if not local, will want pictures of your setup so they can OK it before they approve you.
