I've been told leopard geckos need to eat feeder mice every so often. Is this true? I don't know if I can do it, I like mice. Sorry for all the questions. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Leos don't need mice, and they won't eat an adult mouse, only pinkies. Breeders sometimes give the female geckos an occassional pinky to fatten them up or to have them gain weight quickly. I usually feed a pinky to females that have just layed a clutch to help them get back the weight they lost. This is all optional of course.

no, not really. They dont NEED to have them, most people just use them as occasional treats to fatten geckos up for breeding. Or for geckos who need the extra fat that arent eating too great.
If you'd prefer, you could use waxworms..as they are high in fat also, but use them in moderation, only a few per week...pinkies even less.

HI

No, they don't need to eat feeder pinkies(mice)at all, that is just some peoples choice of an item to feed there geckos.

Take Care, TLB

p.s. - I wouldn't be able to do it either.
