New Horned Frog Owner Question.

ttman360 Mar 01, 2004 10:52 PM

I just got a small (about 1.5 inches) pacman. He is in a 10 gal with bed a beast, a water dish and heat pad(mounted on side of tank. temps about 80). He burries himself partially in the substrate with his head sticking out. When I put a couple crickets in to feed him, it seemed like he got scared and buried himself completley for a couple of hours. I remove the crickets once he burries himself. My question is that I read that small frogs are suposed to eat every day. Ive tried this three days now and he still hasn't eaten. Is this normal or should I take him back and get a new one? Oh, yeah, I also tried dagling a mealworm in front of him with the same results. thanks for any help.

Ok, Thanks for the reassurance, I have a 14 day gaurentee so ill wait and see. I figured he was probably stressed out since he hid from them. Thanks again.

You could maybe wait with feeding him one day or so. Then maybe his appetite will get bigger :D My pacman was about two inches when I got him and it took almost two weeks before he started eating. As you described mine was also scared at first.
