Hey all - I pretty much got banned from a site regarding this matter and the lame answers I got. There was one person that answered properly which is a bit of a bummer - I just hope he's on this site.
Anyway - can anyone give me solid reasons as to not Hybridize a Blotch BTS with an Eastern BTS???? I know it's been done, and all the babies are healthy and fertile, however I copped a bashing over it and then I was told that inbreeding is ok whilst hybridizing is not. Any thoughts?

If bts is blue tongue skinks then reason why not to hybrid.
Eastern bts=$80-100.each blotched bts=600-1500each so no benifit
at all not even if your eastern was albino.You would just go and buy more easterns.your babys are only worth what people will pay and it won't be $600.But it up to you.Me personaly save and buy another eastern and blotched and have two pairs.

Are you sure its not BROWN TREE SNAKES? I used to live in Hawaii and they used to refer to them as that.

I would have never guessed Blue Tongue skinks.LOL!

I guess that is why nobody answered your question up till now.

IM going to guess it means Blue Tounge Skink. The reason you should never breed different localties is a kind of shakey question. This is the same for Rosy Boas NEVER breed for an EXP.. A Albino to some other type like a D'anza borrogeo ( sry for spelling) because you will mess up a hybred when you sell the babies from them to another person not knowing the difference and they will breed it to something and it just keeps going screwing up the localty. But for BTS it might be the same and maybe why the people where all ganging up at you. Here is my buddys email hes a wizz at this stuff! His name is Chris .. caninus79@yahoo.com. Yeah - BTS = Blue Tongue Skink. I have 3 blotchies and an Eastern and seeing as the fact i live in Australia I just won't get $900 - $1500 for one I thought about breeding hybrids to get some nice colorings. Here are my pics of them.

I would not mix the species or the Sub ones ether. I thought Australia did not allow hybridize period? But yes PLEASE do not mix them for colors stick with what you got and breed the same ones do not mix the Species. By the way NICE BTS!!!!
