pink/reddish coloration on the belly?

quazyboi Mar 02, 2004 03:20 AM

Hi everyone...well my ball is about 8 months old and he sheds and eats perfectly. I know he's not cold because his body temp is quite warm when i pick him up. What concerns me is that he seems to have this weird pinkish/reddish coloration on the lower half of his belly near the tail(mid tummy to tail). I am wondering what this can possibly be?

Thanks

Check your heat mat for temperature. Some heat pads get to hot and they will burn a snake. I have also noticed this on snakes before a shed, but I would be more inclined that it could be irritation from a heat pad that is too hot.

Your body temp is 98.6F.

My snake is usually a little cool to the touch.
