This is my latest in-coming. I'll try to get a clearer picture tonight. I've never seen one so light.

Does this qualify as a "golden"?
I've seen them lighter but never so orange as that one.
What is a golden greek? at WCT
Here's a slightly better picture. I'll spend this weekend getting pictures in good, natural lighting outside, if the weather holds. I think the orange tint is a trick of the lighting more than anything else.
I would be interested in knowing if anyone has seen one like this, and if so, do they know the region from which it came?
He's a game little bugger, eats like there's not tomorrow.

From what I can see in the photos, it is a good looking tortoises. I don't know the local either. I have seen lighter ones. here is a photo of my trio.

I have a small breeding group and the carapace markings differ depending on location. In general they come from northern most Lebanon, northwestern Syria, and southern most Turkey. Big time desert dwellers. Apply Egyptian husbandry and they thrive.
BTW, very nice looking "Middle Eastern" Greek.
Thanks, I'm surprised he's in such good shape, since he was purchased from Petco by a non-reptile person!
He'll be for adoption soon.
