a runt boa???

Greetings everyone!

Long time since I've posted.

I have a female pastel BCI that was born in January 2003. She is STILL only 2' long and about 3/4" thick in girth. Eats great, never misses a meal, very social and friendly, poops fine (did a fecal at the hospital I work at on her, and she's good to go) and everything seems fine.

Is it unusual to have a boa stay this tiny?
When I first got her, I fed her as I do all my babies, once a week (every 7 days approx), then I bumped her to every other week (14-15 days) since she seemed to grow more at the time...I've put her back on once a week feedings (which she's certainly not complaining, lol) and that was two months ago.
This cutie pie sheds great and everything. I'm not concerned about her NOT getting big as I have no qualms about having an animal that acts like a dwarf. LOL!
Just curious and wanting everyone's feedback on this.

Thanks!

Amanda

She could just be a slow grower or genetically smaller. I have an 11 year old female who stopped growing at 6 feet, which she didn't reach until she was 6 or 7 years old. My holdback from her 2000 litter is still only about 3 feet long and I expect it will be several more years before I see her reach 6 feet. A pair I got from my best friend's 2002 litter is close to 3 feet in length now but a bit more slender than my 2000 girl. I also have a couple of females who were born in 1999 that are 7 feet in length and still growing. The feeding regimens for the 2000 & 2002 snakes is once every 14 days or so, the other three big girls are fed once every 3-4 weeks. As long as your girl is healthy and growing, I wouldn't worry about it. She'll eventually get there.
