Ovulation!

Debra Dillon Mar 02, 2004 09:02 AM

This morning when I was checking for ovulations, sheds and eggs I saw this female and thought I would share. The sweet thing about this girl is she was given to us year before last because the owner didn't want her anymore. Last year she laid 8 eggs from breeding her with a 100% Het for Genetic Stripe this year we bred her to what we believe to be a Cinnamon Pastel. Looks like we may have a really good chance of proving him out this season, YAHOO!!

I wouldn't be so excited about this, but I always seem to miss seeing ovulation plus I wonder if it's more pronouced in some than others.

Just a dumb beginners question - how the heck do you "see" ovulation? Luckily my BP is a probed male, so I don't have to worry about seeing ovulation...lol. Thanks

I believe the ovulation...

It's that huge great fuzzy red glowy thingy that I am a little suspect about...

If not PhotoShop, perhaps Kool-Aid...???

Thanks Debra! I figured it was just an enlargment of the area where the follicles were developing, but I wasn't sure. I guess I'm just too used to geckos - ya can't see them ovulate . Thanks for the pateint answer - just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything I might need to know later. Take care!

Nice example of ovulation. Should be a good diagnostic tool for those waiting to see it for the first time.
