New captive bred frill from a private breeded

nogard Mar 02, 2004 12:43 PM

my other frills were farm raised and
sketchy, and he is not at all sketchy, I have never owned a captive bred
frill before, and was wondering is it normal for him to be so calm, I put
him in his own enclosure and he walked under the heat lamp to bask. To see
if he was alert I put my beardie next to the tank and he DID NOT frill up,
he did however watch it very closely and gripped the cactus rib hard. Is he
just used to human contact, like captive bred ball pythons and Monitors? Or
should I keep an eye on him and take him to the vet? Also should how long should I wait before I feed him, I just got him today around 10:00 AM arizona time, What do you guys think?

I think your little guy's probably fine. He may be just laid back. My female's like that now (though it took a LONG time for her to get that way).
Try to feed him right away, if he doesn't eat he may just still be getting adjusted.
