Big ol' ovulation.

tomsburms Mar 02, 2004 12:55 PM

I think this is probably the largest ovulation I have ever seen. She looks like she swallowed a small child.

...should be an interesting combination.

jtrott Mar 02, 2004 01:38 PM

if it is that should make a very interesting baby as you said. Good luck with 'em.

...it is, and probably the only one in the U.S. (for now). I have a very interesting side project going on.

Keep us updated, you have any full body shots of that fader? I think I have seen them before, but I don't know if it was yours or someone else's.

Bob Clark had a couple like that a couple of years ago. He offered them to me as he was selling them, but admitted to me that they only threw normal babies. I declined them. Hopefully yours prove out, I'd really like to see some fader crosses too. Where did you get yours?

This is one of the animals from Bob's original group, and the only fader that is left. The only successful breeding of the fader was to an animal that looks similar to a fader but may be a different morph all together. Of course, all of the offspring from that breeding would not show the trait; instead they would be double-het. I suspect the fader trait will be proven simple recessive. It should be proven this year.

Oh, okay. Good luck on that then.

Tom,
If you get a chance, please post photos of the head markings on this male. I would be interested in seeing how they appear. Thanks,

Kelly

His head markings are quite normal. I hope this picture helps.

Thanks Tom,
The body had a very slight molurus look to it but the head appears pure bivittatus.

That is a great pic of her ovulating. Very pretty albino too! Did you breed your granite female this year?

Ben

tomsburms Mar 02, 2004 02:10 PM

Hey Ben,

She did breed this year but has not ovulated yet. I guess time will tell. She's a funny girl...12-13 feet long but built like a Borneo. She is growing in length very slowly.

...sorry for the fuzzy pic. I was focusing on the tails.

Is this her second breeding? I ask because I have noticed that sometimes second year pregnancies are HUGE.
