Hello; I have an emerald swift. She seems to be having trouble finding chrickets in the bark beding. I was wondering if a swift would have the same prob. with impaction on sand deding as beardies do or would it be ok to put sand in her cage

Emerald swifts are more of a high altitude forest/mountain lizard, and would not be on sand like a desert lizard.
My son has two of emeralds, and keeps them in a heavily planted tank with a soil substrate with cork bark and branches. It is heavily misted once or twice a day and has a spot of about 100F, back ground temps in the 60s-70s, and plenty of additional fluorescent lighting.
Most of the food is placed in a small bowl. Food is generally dusted mealworms and a few crickets. The crickets that escape the bowl may hide in the tank, but are eventually eaten.
