Wow! Awesome looking snake! What area is that from?

...near the cane fields in Palm Bch. co. FL. We were really looking for kings, and this guy surprised the heck out of me when I found him under some tin along a canal bank.

What a beast. He was south Florida? How do you manage to get your hands on them in the cane fields. I assume he was along the canals?

Yeah, he was along a canal bank under tin. You gotta be quick (and accurate)or you'll get tagged for sure and/or or lose 'em. Better to miss altogether than grab a big guy like this about 1/2 way down his body! He really calmed down for a brown though and only tried to bite when I put him down for a pic. He could smell freedom. I took a couple pics and set him back where he was before I interrupted. Saw a much smaller pair on the rocks.

I've been interested for some time in getting a N. taxispilota, but I live in California and can't just go out to the river and catch one. I know it's doubtful, but are there any decent merchants out there I can talk to about getting one?

Thanks

Once again Crimson has inspired me to come out from hibernation. This will only be temporary, Arctic winds are still blowing.
I got a pair of baby browns from Glades Herp a couple of years ago. They're shy and "quiet" but feed well though not as ravenously as the others. Mine are a lighter brown with chestnut blotches, very, very nice!
