restlesswind444 Mar 02, 2004 03:50 PM

the cheapest shipping cost i found for ordering 100 frozen pinkies is 20 dollars (rodentpro.com)...all others have been over 40 which i think is rediculous...is 20 dollars the cheapest price i will find or does anyone know someone who does it cheaper
thanks,

Not only does the package have to be shipped overnight but it has to be packaged with dry ice. $20 is actually incredibly cheap!!! You should take it and run! LOL!

$40 for shipping isn't really all that ridiculous. The very cheapest overnight shipper is probably Airborne, and they charge at least $25-$30. UPS and FedEx are more like $30-$40. Not to mention the cost of the box, insulation, dry-ice (maybe another $5 total), and you can see that the $20 RodentPro is charging is a bargain.

I just tried rodentpro because they were cheaper than the other place I'd been getting mice--not by a ton but hey, 8 bucks is 8 bucks. Well....one bag of pinkies, you know the price....comes in this HUGE box with enough insulation to do a small room. Ridiculous! I guess they market more towards people placing bigger orders but you would think they could have some smaller boxes made for smaller orders. Anyway, I did find them to be the cheapest and I know it's a pain how much shipping is....but if you get a bunch at a time you cut down on how often you have to order.

rodent pro stuf comes vacume packed right? how long do they last in the freezer vacum sealed?

LdyPayne Mar 03, 2004 02:09 PM

Not sure if rodentpro vacuum seals or not, but typicaly you can keep vacuumed sealed frozen rodents up to a year in the freezer, depending on how 'old' the product was when you bought it. ie, how long it was in their freezer before being shipped to you.

no, they were in a ziploc bag-type thing. the mouse factory ships them vacuum sealed, which is where I got mice from previously--they're not a lot more expensive if the vacuum sealing is really important to you
