Need info on Dendrelaphis sp

GatorGal Jun 10, 2003 01:06 PM

Does anyone know how to tell apart
Dendrelaphis Punctulata & Dendrelaphis Calligastra?
It doesn't seem feasable to tell them apart via scale/interstitial skin colouration.

Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

P.S.
If anyone knows how to tell apart the two subspecies of Dendrelaphis Punctulata please let me know.

Subspecies listed:
Dendrelaphis P. Punctulatus
Dendrelaphis Punctulatus Striolatus

(listed by EMBL)

I don't know about the two different subspecies of Dendrelaphis punctulata, but as I recall the keys between punctulata and calligastra are that calligastra has a dark anterior lateral streak that is missing on punctulata, calligastra has larger eyes and is more slender.
