Mellers Incubation Times???

TylerStewart Mar 02, 2004 05:11 PM

I'm looking for anyone with experience hatching out Mellers chameleons.... What was the incubation time? I've heard plenty of people saying 5-6 months, but I swear I've heard people in this forum say 3 months, and another person said 3 months and 8 days. Anything I can find is useful, I'm expecting eggs soon. Thanks!

I don't have any experience with meller's, and hopefully someone knows the incubation times, but as long as you know the right incubation temp., then i would just wait it out and be ready to feed the little mouths.
Have you tried a search on google?

According to the few keeping accounts incubation is short, as the females carry the eggs a bit longer than other species. By the time they are laid they show vascularization. I have also read 3-4 months, but it may vary with your incubation temps. There is a good melleri forum on YahooGroups that has lots of experience with the species, though few of us have actually hatched eggs. Maybe someone there could tell you. Good luck! Be ready for 4" eating machines!
