Is this true????????????!?

Hello,This is Iggygurl.I raise the smallest breed of rabbit known to man and someone told me that Iguanas produce a toxin in there skin that can kill my netherland dwarf rabbits and mini rex rabbits?Is this true?I also have spiny tailed iggy now and that is when my bunnies were dying.Please let me know if this is true!!!!!ASAP my rabbits lives depend on it!lol..~

There are only 2 truly toxic lizards in the world...so that isn't it. Salmonilla can kill rabbits and other rodents quite easily and thats a POSSIBILITY with Iguana's.. however I've known people who've kept both with no problems. Salmonilla is everywhere.. not just on reptiles' skins. I'd just make sure I wash my hands well before and after handling the iggy and before you handle any rabbits.

AHHHHHHHHH!!!!thankyou sooooo much........Someone e-mailed me telling me that SICK iggys killed my rabbits!HUH!!!Thanks again!I lost my 1st rabbit I was thinking it was my iguana But thanks again

I have iguanas and have had iguanas almost my whole life. I have also had rabbits. I have never had any health problems be transfer between the two. I have had Net. Dwarf. Salmonella is the biggest thing to worry about and if you keep your ig clean and wash your hands after handling/cleaning then you shouldn't have to worry about it.
