I keep my probe right on the substrate near the eggs, if its 80-83 there you should have lots of females
good luck with the eggies!

I’ve been incubating some gals at room temp and I might be able to help you out. The room temps have been a bit low(77-82) here in Arizona, but I haven’t noticed any ill effects on my eggs as of yet. What I look for is even condensation (droplets) on the incubation container; this tells me that there is a good amount of humidity for the eggs. I’d suggest putting them in a Styrofoam container if the temperature changes are more drastic in your area. What are you doing up so late bud? Anyhow good luck with your eggs!

Here 2 pics of my eggs from this season:

Is there a marker or type of writing instrument that is reccomended for writing on the eggs that doesn't risk them aborbing the ink or dye? Just curious if that was an issue or something to worry about at all?

Thanks,

Lee

Since we are warmer than most things around us, anything under 98.6 degrees will feel cool. If the thermometer in the incubator is reading 82, I'm sure the perlite is as well. Good luck!!!
