I agree, an African fat-tailed gecko would be good if you are wanting a gecko you can handle. Panther geckos(Paroedura picta) are good also, but they are skittish and are about 5 times faster than African fat-tails. Check the mouth and snout of the gecko, because wild caught animals are still very common in the trade. They often have damaged mouths/snouts from being kept in small enclosures or from fighting accident (or many other possibilities). Make sure it does not have any dried skin on its body, especially the feet. If you get one do not keep it on sand.
:0!! I bet your leos are crying away now! lol j/k Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldnt an AFT be more money than a leo because a normal is around 40 or 50?And in her previous post she said leos are too expensive.

If you are going to go to a pet shop to buy a gecko be prepared to get raped in cost. Banded geckos are cool, but I bet they will be just as pricy as a leo in a pet shop.
If you wanted to get a leo, but are worried about doing the whole credit card transaction stuff to get one online. You can always see what breeders there are in your area and just buy from them directly. I know most breeders take money orders. That is how I bought mine.
To find out where breeders are go to the Leopard Gecko forum and ask where breeders are in your area. The nice thing is these are bred all over the place. They are probably just as common as corn snakes.
