I was out on the Pearl River two days ago and I noticed that spring is definitely in motion. I don't know if we'll be getting anymore freezes but if the amount of life and blossoming I've been seeing are a sign, I doubt we will.
I saw quite a few turtles out and about. I'm just glad it's getting warmer, my blood is too thin for this weather.
Here is a picture of a N. rhombifer soaking up a little warmth.

On Sunday a.m. frogs were out in full force in the lower Bogue Chitto NWR. A few turkeys gobbling too! Couldn't drive into the PRWMA with the roads closed because of high water and didn't feel like launching the boat.
