should i feed my cham today?

chunks_89 Mar 03, 2004 10:35 AM

Due to unavailability of one insect in my order of bugs i was supposed to get monday, i won't be able to get them until tomorrow. He hasn't eaten since sunday...
Should i get some ridiculously expensive and ridiculously non-nutritions mealworms today, and give him some?
He is in a (fairly) good mood and is drinking etc.
Please reply soon, so i know wether or not to buy some mealworms after school.
Thanks!

I would feed him something.
I take it your nearest pet store doesn't have any crix to hold you over for a day?
If not i guess that would be better than nothing..
Good Luck..

I ended up finding a couple fat crix in the cricket bin today, so he ate those from my hand (he hasn't done that in a while, he was hungry enough to do it). And i have been trying to feed him a strawberry. Anyone have any suggestions on how to put a strawberry in a cham cage so it doesnt fall when he tries to eat it? He goes nuts for it when i spear it on a stick, but he tries to bite it and it comes off.

I just stick the fruit balanced on a leaf. Also, I cut the fruit into a long "flap" and lightly push it onto a branch that's sticking out.

Sounds good, only thing is i sanded off every sharp little stick from the real tree limbs in his cage and the rest are aftificial vines & real plants w/no sticky-outy parts.
