One of my eastern females laid a clutch of four eggs last night. This is the second clutch of eggs I get this season. One of my other eastern females laid a little over three weeks ago, all five of which are looking good right now. That brings this season's egg total up to nine. I'm not sure if I will be getting anymore eggs. It came as somewhat of a surprise to me that she laid last night. The only successful breeding I witnessed with this particular female occured only three and a half weeks ago. I read it takes anywhere from four to six weeks after a successful breeding for a female to lay if she does become gravid, so I wasn't expectings eggs for at least another few days. Last night was the first night in the week or two that I have been checking on her that I actually forgot to go check on her, and of course she picks that night to lay. I found out she had laid because when I went check on her this morning she felt lighter, so I checked her for eggs and sure enough there were none. After that I looked around the pen for any loose dirt where she would have laid, and the first place I found and started digging in, I found the eggs. Well anyway, I guess I've said enough. I wish everyone else the same luck I am receiving this year.
