Ball Pythons first shed?

I need to know when the baby ball pythons first start to shed.

Hi Matt,

Well if you are talking about a hatchling that just came out of the egg then your probably looking at 7-10 days on the average. But if you are asking about after that point it really depends on the conditions the snake is kept in. The food, heat, and essentially the snakes genetics will determine how fast it will grow and thus how often it will shed. One thing that is known is that babies will shed more often then adults because they grow dramatically faster when they are young (just like people). So I wouldn't worry too much about it as long as your snake has adequate food and heat you should see a shed in no time.
