help incubation of eggs

jcgecko Jun 10, 2003 03:07 PM

Hey i live in florida and have a permit to keep alligators. i live right by a retentionpond/lake and last weeek my stupid neighbors called the humane society on a couple of alligators that lived there because they as the women put "looked funny at her child like it might charge" i walk past them almost everyday walking my Jack russel (who would be probably a much more appeasing meal to them and they have never even moved an inch) well the humane society dragged them off but i went fishing yesterday and found one of the females nests. It was freshly laid by the looks of it. I have an incubator for my geckos and bds so i thought i might try to incubate them. I left the nest alone for now but was hoping if anyone had info if they would plz post. I told the humane society and they said to leave the nest alone but if any of them hatched to call them and they would take them in. So i just want to try to incubate a couple of them. plz post on ideas thanks.

Jason...
I would personally heed the advice of the FWC...by you taking any eggs from that nest is a violation of Florida law. Even though you have a permit to house alligators, you do not have an egg collector's permit, and that could cause you some legal headaches.
