How long should bull snake hibernate???

I have a 2-3 yr old bull (wild) that I put in a cool closet (55-60F) about six weeks ago for hibernation. I was wondering, how long should he go? The temp outside is about 40-55F lately (Illinois). Should I introduce food right away after hibernation?
