I had posted further down, but couldnt find the thread so i could comment once again. My pair are housed in a tank with a slate bottom with some calci-sand at one end and between the tiles. SHe is losing weight now, and the problem is only occuring in her. my mals is fine and he is in the same cage. I dont believe it is a parasite problem, i am thinking she may be impacted from sand maybe? Maybe eggbound? Anyone shed some light for me maybe? Thank you....

When you look at her tummy, do you see eggs inside her?

My guess is that your male is too dominant. If you do keep a male with females, you need a higher ratio of females to the male, 1.3 at least. They may appear to get along when you watch them but he may still be too intimidating to her. I personally only have a wild caught pair together.
I would seperate the male and you should see improvement in your female.

Males can be very persistant during breeding season, and perhaps your female just isn't receptive at this time, and is stressed. Definately remove the male, and be sure and get a fecal exam on your female to rule out the possibility of something more serious.

Great... I will try it and see if it improves... thanks for the help... was starting to get worried about her.

try feeding her something other than what she normally gets, she might just be bored, if that doesnt work then seperate her from the male, she should improve in a couple days.
