Tail loss

How common is it for leapord geckos to drop thier tales? (Please remind me also of the technical term). I'm a snake enthusiast thinking of getting a pair of leos,and am a bit nervous. Waddya think?

Well, tail-drop is more common to happen in babies, they drop their tails when they are extremely scared, so the predator will eat the tail while they run away. In adults, more commonly what happens is that another gecko bites them...n/p, and sometimes they tear it off, it regenerates, although not as before. If you get yourseld into the fascinating Leo worls, you will see some leos with no tails or regenerated ones. I hope it helped.

Geckos normaly lost their tails when they are anxious or nervous, somethimes if they don't feel counfortable in the place where they are, it is possible they drop the tail. but don't worried this event is not very common.
