I got him last week from a guy who had him in a 10 gallon tank with a heat rock, screen cover , small waterbowl, and in the middle of a bad shed.he claimed he had it for 2 years but i think he lied, the snake is 31 inches and a little smaller than my 1 year old.Well i bumped up the humidity inhis new tank, and assisted the shed this morning. What did I find but a gorgeous granite pattern. I am not sure if it is a really pretty normal or a morph what do you think? I also found a tick which i could not see with old skin on, removed it and getting prevent a mite this am.I also found a burn on the belly that has healed but was painful at one point. My other question is does this mean he/she(sexing next week)is a WC, or could this be just from how it was kept. here is one pic and i have more if you need them. So really pretty nomal or morph? If morph... what kind??
Thank you in advance , Jay

I have a normal BP with the same pattern. He is all black with many brown patches all over, and every brown patch has a smaller black patch to it. It really makes for a flawless, less common and stunning snake. Still, it's normal none-the-less.

I hope to post some pics soon.

Hi Jay,

Well it looks like you have a nice normal bp there. From what it sounds like, you have everything together (i.e. checking for mites/ticks, helping w/shed). Just because you found a tick does not mean it is a WC, although it still is a possibility. There are other ways they can get ticks such as poor husbandry or from food. What I would recommend is to take a stool sample to the vet and make sure there are no internal parasites. Once you treat him/her for mites/ticks then you should be all set. Its great to hear that someone with experience and caring has this snake now. Good luck in the future.
