Mites are not a fun thing. I just noticed a couple on a couple of my snakes. I had some reptile relief and used it all up. I just recieved some provent a mite in the mail and will use it for preventitive measures in the future. I'm now convinced of the inportance of quarintining new snakes, not matter where they came from. Good luck, Chris

You can use 2 products out today for mites. Prevent a mite and the old fashioned remedy, cod liver oil. i like using the oil because you can rub it right on the snake. The prevent a mite has to be sprayed in the cage, ont on the animal. There are other methods, but it reguires a knowledge of vetrinary medicine. i recommend the 2 listed above

Forget oil. Oil only takes care of the mites that are ON the snake. If you see one mite, you've got a thousand, all hiding in the cage.

I *HIGHLY* recommend the Black Knight treatment suggested by Pro Exotics. I have used it on my own snakes as well as other peoples', with great success.

Note: When Robyn says you need to over-react, he's not kidding. One of my friends who got mites from a pet-store purchase didn't break down his cages or do the follow-up treatments. He got mites back with a freaking VENGEANCE.

This is going to turn into hundreds of mites, if it already hasn't. Here are a couple of web sites that might help you. Good luck.
