Attaching acrylic to glass?

Hi!

I was wondering what a good method is for glueing acrylic hinges, latches etc. to glass. Is regular clear silicone good or would another type of adhesive be better, stonger, longer lasting?

I use Marine Goop - available in Home Depot and most other hardware stores. It works fine and is unaffected by moisture and humidity.
