gravid? ovulating? just hopeful?

Hey gang!
Just wondering if someone can help me out here. I have a female Central American Boa that has been paired up for the last couple of months with a male and I have witnessed copulation on several occasions. I had her out today cleaning her enclosure and she seems a bit thicker in the mid section than usual. Am I hallucinating? Am I just overly hopeful? Or is she possibly looking gravid or ovulating? If anyone can shed some light on this I would be most appreciative.
Thanks,
Pete

btw...she has not been fed in 10 days and has defecated since her last meal.

My answer would lean toward no, I am thinking you may be seeing preovulation swell. Is the male still activly breeding her? If not and she goes into a shed cycle soon, I would say I am wrong. If the male is still interested leave him in there. Either way you will have to wait to be sure. Good luck. Craig Kade

Thanks for your reply!
The male still does seem interested in breeding her, but very intermittently. This is my 1st season breeding boids so I'm still learning what to look for. I wasn't convinced that she was ovulating or showing signs of being gravid as the pictures I've seen of these 2 events seem to show much more extreme swelling. Pre-ovulation swell is something that I hadn't considered. I've placed the male back with the female as I had separated them for feeding purposes. The male fed but the female refused her meal. Is this typical? What should I be looking for next? I appreciate your feedback as well as that of any other interested parties.
Thanks,
Pete
