water bowl question...

pweaver Mar 04, 2004 02:07 PM

Someone posted a msg about a month or two ago with a picture of the water bowl setup they use. It was basically a type of plastic plumbing pipe where they insert a plastic bowl inside. The plastic cup is then disposable.
I've been searching the archives but I can't seem to find the info on this...

Hi,
I saw the setup that you are refering to and have implemented it with my snakes and I must say that it works great. It consists of a 4" PVC coupling (can be purchased at Home Depot plumbing dept. for ~$1.75) in which you can insert either 8 oz. or 16 oz. deli cups (water bowls). I have not had a overturned waterbowl since. Hope this helps!

The 4" PVC couplings hold the 16 oz. delicups with and without lids. The 8 oz. cups require lids.

it to take those plastic dog bowls--the kind that are rectangular and have 2 sides to them for food and water, and cut between the 2 depressions so you have 2 water bowls from 1 dog bowl. I find you can usually get the smaller sizes at dollar stores, and sometimes even the bigger sizes. The wide base makes them tough to tip and they're pretty easy to clean.
