I'm going to the vet tomorrow and I was wondering if anybody had heard of these herp meds before. Nobody i've talked to yet has heard of them but my vet keeps prescribing it. Thought i'd pick your brains to see if you have. thanks.

I have used Fortaz before. With the snakes I used to keep it worked for strains of respiratory infections that Baytril wouldn't cure. When I used it I had to hydrate the animals with pedialite because it dehydrated them badly. I preferred it over Baytril just because of how commonly used Baytril is. Bugs seem to be building a resistance to it.

Thanks a lot! Everyone else i've talked to has never heard of it. It seemed kinda odd.

Thanks again!

Ceftazidime is the generic name for Fortaz. It is a cephalosporin antibiotic that is frequently used for intraveneous therapy in humans, for serious infections. You can go to any of the web based pharmaceutical databases, and get some information on it. I hope this information helps.
