My vets been prescribing this stuff and no one i've talked to has heard of it. Have you? If so, what's your opinion of it?

I have heard of Fortaz, and those that have used it reported excellent results. How has your experience been? I haven't used it personally, so I can't give you any details. One story I can relay...pointing to the fact that your vet may be a little more educated than others treating reptiles. A friend of mine owns some Galapagos torts. and he had some initial problems with them. Typical treatment wasn't helping when Dr. Chris Carmichael suggested the use of Fortaz and discussed the dosage with the Vet being used. Treatment with Fortaz was prescribed and the results were excellent. Dr. Carmichael's brother Rob is semi-regular on the ball forum, and Chris used to post occassionally. If you haven't mentioned this post there, you may want to and see if one of them doesn't respond. They're equally knowledgeable and any advice given is as good as money in the bank. Take care!

Thanks sooo much for the info. I've been asking around and nobody had heard of it. It seemed a bit strange. But i've gotten nothing but positive feedback on it since I posted this thread here on Kingsnake. I feel A LOT more at ease now.
