Well, It's Official. I'm Broke.

I am a college student and bored outta my mind. I bred bearded dragons for a year but my real love is ball pythons. So, I sold off my bearded dragons and took that money along with money that I had from selling my '02gsx-r(mom made me sell) and decided to spend some of it on a ball python breeding project. As of today I have purchased the following for my projects and decided that it is enough (since this morning I opened my wallet and moths flew out): 1.0 pastel graziani line (waiting to hatch), 1.2 100% het. hi-contrast albinos (waiting to hatch although I am selling one of the females from this group), 0.2 '03's 50% pos. het. hi-contrast albinos, and 0.1 3lb. burgandy wc.. Not to mention that I still have to purchase a rack system set-up. I am doing it for the passion, though it would be nice if they could eventually pay for themselves. I will post pics of the whole bunch once they arrive. Anyone who is in the same boat as me let me know what you have and how it's going. Also let me know how much time your collections takes up. I am currently finishing my second yr. of schooling (biology major).

~Do it for the passion, not for the cash. If you get too greedy, your "business" will crash.~

Thanks for reading and reviews,
Dom

LOL... I think anyone out there who owns a snake collection and feel for you on this one. Since Steve and I began this business it has just been one investment after another and if im not cleaning there room and feeding them, am buying them bigger newer homes and heat pads and everything else under the sun, the price of this hobby doesnt end once you own the animal... its a lifetime of commitment and "moths flying out of you walet", but..... ahhhh the rewards of seeing your animals flurish is something that could never be replaced.... Goood luck with your new found investment... im sure they will be everything you wish they can be...

Sincerely,
Rose Hipskind

Sounds like a great project. Why sell the other female? I wouldn't
As for myself I work in call-center 9 hours a day. My ball pythons are my only responsibility so I head straight home first and foremost to make sure my babies are doing ok.
Right now I have a 0.1 tiger,1.0 PDH for Jolliff Snow and 1.0 Normal. I bought the normal marked as a 0.1 and just recently had her probed and found out shes a he! I love him just the same.
As for my projects, this year I have a 1.0 Albino, 0.1 00% Het. Albino coming. I am also purchasing (it'll be a LATE 04 Stonewashed Pastel. I hope to find a 1.0 Ghost this year as well. In 05' I hope to have a pair of 100% Het. Piebalds!
Good luck with your projects, Cakes

Yup I hear ya. I was a biochem major and I spent my lunch money on 2 Ball Pyhons, an African Senagal Parrot, a stray Doberman Pinscher (vet bills to nurse her back to health), and 2 Cay Caulker Boas. Some days I wasn't sure if it was a science project or love of animals. Now I have a real job in the pharmaceutical industry and somehow I'm just as broke from spending my money on more animals. It never ends.
