rodent chow. It's cheap and any pet store should have it. Don't use dog food. IMO

Dog food works, cheerios, depends on how long you are planning on keeping them... a day? a week? a month? If it's only a few days they'll be fine with bread or cheerios or any other grainy product you have laying around. If you bought so many you will have them for more than a few days, then buy a bag of dog-food... NOT a "Gravy" variety, NOT Alpo... buy the absolute cheapest dogfood they have. Or buy a bag of rodent chow. These are all things that work well. A lot just depends on the length of time you are keeping them.
