reabsorbed egg?

thegeckobarn Mar 04, 2004 10:13 PM

One of Dusty's females that I have here waiting on her to lay seems to have only one egg...but when I looked a few days ago, it looked like one huge mass of white, so I thought it could only be 2 eggs,...b/c no egg is THAT big! lol.

But anyway, now it seems to be only one normal sized egg, from what I can see.
She has been gravid for a little over a month now...so im wondering if she reabsorbed this other egg?
She was losing tail fat,...and all of a sudden gained a bit back, but hasnt been eating much recently b/c of being gravid.

Any idea as to if she could have reabsorbed this other egg or why?

how long before we consider her to be egg bound? I dont feel the need to go rushing to the vet at one month, but how long should we wait?
Never had that happen before.

I to had this happen recently. I had a huge female that look like she was ready to burst. She ended up just laying one egg. It has been 20 days since she laid last and she laid 2 perfect eggs this morning. So if she doesn't appear to still have an egg inside her, I would wait her out and see what is in the next clutch.
