sanitizing a cage from garbage?

got a really well condition 40 gal tall from a neighbor thats moving. he kept fish in it but im planning on using it for my reptiles. how do i properly clean it so i get rid of all the dangerous stuff, but make sure its not too dangerous for the future inhabitants of the tank...

Use water and a LITTLE bleach. Say 1 Tablespoon per gallon of water you use.

Make sure you rinse well too...

After the bleach and water, use white vinegar and water.... harmless to critters and helps to neutralize the bad stuff...
Let it air out and it should be good
