dog attack.

well, guess julian had his first dog encounter today. i have a 5 year old bichon frise who is a very docile, yet inquisitive animal, so i guess it was only a matter of time. i had taken julian's enclosure down to clean out his substrate/water and everything else and once i was done, he had been put back inside, and i hadn't gotten to putting it back up on the table. in the meanwhile, my dog snuck in and i walked in to discover bing (my dog) laying on the floor staring at julian, who had miraculously moved from his home to my bedroom carpet. wonder how. so anyway, he was pretty shaken. coiled up inside his shell pretty much as far as any baby sulcata can get. he seemed to be okay, though. no blood, no evidence of being chewed of any sort. virtually unharmed. in the meantime, he has worked his way out of his shell and has been walking about his enclosure as usual. going in his water, laying in the soft areas, basking, etc. however i noticed 2 spots where a VERY tiny bruise has formed on the outer skirt kind of area of his shell. not on his carapace or plastron. it's just a small red spot. i am guessing that is what happened initially from being picked up by the dog. there are no other marks on him whatsoever. and he's acting okay. is it safe to assume that he is alright? I really hope so. this whole thing has been very upsetting for me, and i really hope that everything will turn out okay. will the bruise go away eventually?

thanks. there won't be a next time. i can't believe there even was a THIS time. i was really shaken up last night- it was very upsetting because i've seen pictures of what happens when other dogs get to turtles & tortoises. i'm just VERY VERY greatful that my dog didn't really want to do anything besides liberate him from his box lol. he's fine this morning, walking around, eating & drinking. i feel so terrible that he had such a scare last night.

Maybe he kicked the dog, and the red spots are dog blood...
