Sick Corn?

jm297667 Mar 05, 2004 12:19 AM

I've had my corn snake for a little over a month. I've often wondered if the snake is drinking from its water source. I have held her over the water a few times and she has drank for 30 seconds at a time which i thought was weird. The dish is a natural looking rock water dish. I was also wondering if anyone knew if that could be connected to the snake not defecating. She doesn't hesitate to eat at a feeding, I don't know whats going on. She hasn't shed yet since i've had her, but she does look a little dull.
Thanks

How old is she?Youngins poop alot.If you use reptile bark or other dark substrate you might not be seeing it.If she is young and feeds good she can shed every 4-6 weeks. If you want to ease your mind you can try giving her a swim in some warm water that will almost gaurantee a turd or two...Paul.

I'm not real sure. She is about 2 1/2 feet long. I'm not sure of the age, I've always hear about some breeders stunting their growth until sold. I'll try the warm water idea. I looked today and she is going into shed stage.
Thanks.
