I doubt it mine gets a little bit of forest bed in his mouth every once in a while.Besides as a child( 8 years old ) I kept my fire bellies on gravel and they would eat the gravel with their crickets and they always passed the gravel the next day.

that is too funny... passing gravel that must have hurt. Thanks for the reply,

I wonder sometimes because so many people are totally neurotic about possible "impaction" from all causes. What do these frogs do in the wild, when they are surrounded by soil, sand, gravel, fibrous organic matter and toxic plants, which seems to be another bit over-worry, because frogs don't eat plants? Impaction does occur in captivity however, and it is often attributed to gravel that the frogs lap up in their eagerness to ingest an insect. (All but dart frogs, who have a more specific and accurate tongue, seem to do this, by report.) What is the difference?
