Yellow flower weeds, that my chucks like ?????? David??????????

eve Jun 10, 2003 06:02 PM

These grow here and there around my yard, nice shaped little flower, yellow, kinda shaped like the white star of bethlehem if you have ever seen that ! But I do not know what they are, the green leaves they grow from are clustery like four leaf clover looking, they love the green part also. Any Idea ? Oh and mine also love buttercups, they have been growing like crazy for weeks, between my home and neighbors side yard, like a field of them, anyway before I mow, I pick a mess of them, chucks, desert iguana and uros all love them too !

This is Yellow Wood Sorrel ( no comments JohnE )-- a wild member ( again-- quiet John) of the Oxalis family. Even though these plants have a bitter taste, chucks seem oblivious ( like JohnE)to that fact. Chucks & DI's are known to eat plants like Desert Marigold-- which can cause paralysis in horses ( NOT JohnE for sure)

Again, a cool post just to put things into perspective

David
