Filter issues

rossa Mar 05, 2004 12:20 PM

Okay, so I got a musk baby today and I have it all set up in a 40 gallon breeder. The only problem is that the filter i'm using for the tank is creating too much of a current for the little guy to actually go all the way into the water and move around. Any suggestions on what I should do? Thanks.

is he floating because, the filter might not be the problem, if the current is to strong i suggest getting a less powerful filter, but if he seems to be foatling he will get over that it means that he might just be trying to swim on the wrong breath.

How can you even find the little guy in a 40gal? He's got a mansion to live in. But hey by no means is that bad. Its good to see someone actually prepared for the future. About the filter, what kind is it? Power, Canister, Internal? Also how deep is your water? Hatchling musks need shallow water. Keeping them in deeper water is fine as long has you have a good sized shallow area where he can rest and not have to swim to get air. After I know what kind of filter you have, I will be able to help you out more.
