Iguana W/ Water Dragon?

kaduku Mar 05, 2004 03:31 PM

Hi, I have an iguana that I adopted from work (he fell and fractured his foot, which was starting to get infected, so we amputated it) He is now in a 60gal tank until he gets bigger, then I will move him into an outdor cage. I was wondering if he would be ok with a water dragon in the 60gal tank. There are actually 2 baskings sites under the same light (two logs). He was real agressive towards me, but is calming down, will he be aggresive towards the water dragon? Or does it matter on personalties? When we first got him in he was housed with around 5 other iguanas with no problem (unless they pushed him off the ledge, thus fracturing his foot and getting him out of the cage) Also he is strictly vegetarian, I feed no meat (crickets/worms).

Thanks

i do not have an iguana, nor do i have a water dragon, but i surf the forums daily, and i know it is definetly not a good idea to mix species, especially in such a small area. Some common bacteria in the iguana that is harmless to it could be deadly to the water dragon and vice versa. Water dragons need much more humidity than iguanas. Also they could EASILY injure each other. IMO i would not risk one of your pet's lives.
